Alesis Io 14 Firewire Drivers Mac

I think this is my first post in this neck of the woods. I picked up an io 14 through a stellar transaction on ebay. I’ve been using a Lambda but wanted more input channels and I’m not quite ready yet for a Motu(and a Mac!). Right before it arrived, my recording computer took a nose dive and fried the HD. Picked up a newer, faster Dell running SP3 and got everything I needed installed. Got the Lambda installed and soon the Alesis arrived. However I have yet to get it to install without completely crashing my PC. I have what I believe to be the lastest drivers. The firewire is an Ultra PCI card. I did suceed in installing the Alesis with the same firewire card when I put a spare hard drive into the old computer. It blue screened a few times but finally installed. It was running SP2 so is there an issue with firewire and SP3? I thought SP3 was supposed to have better firewire support. I’m satisfied with everything else the new PC does so I would rather not roll back to SP2 but I guess if that is my only option it will have to work. The Edirol FA-101 (an Audio device like your) don’t work in Windows under Boot Camp with Apple Mac Pro Hardware and his drivers installed... Your post is to conferm that Apple hardware has big problems with Firewire 1394 peripherals. Like you, I can’t find in Sound Control Panel the detailed list of the Audio device of Edirol FA-101 (4 analog stereo channel IN, 4 analog stereo channel OUT and 2 stereo channel SPDIF). I thing this is to demonstrate that Apple drivers had to be update regarding the Firewire management. Now I’ll open a post to ask this update to Apple (If you agree). 1 Firewire problem could be a Windows responsibility... BUT 2 Firewire audio peripherals...Alesis Io 14 Firewire Drivers Mac Catalina
